East German Combat Groups Patch
East German Combat Groups of the Working Class (Kampfgruppen der Arbeiterklasse or KdA). Formed on September 29, 1953, after the uprising in East Germany, it was a paramilitary organization of volunteers.
The KdA numbered around 400,000 volunteers.
It was created in response to the worker's uprising on June 17, 1953.
The uprising was suppressed by Soviet forces.
The organization was dissolved in 1990.
